Hi and welcome to my website.
My name is Suzanne Boyle, and I am the founder of Healthy Selfie Nutrition. As the name suggests, 'Heal Thy Self' is at the core of my philosophy—focusing on self-care, inner healing, and nurturing a healthier, more balanced you
Background
As a teenager in the 1980s, the main female role models at that time, came from glossy magazine covers of skinny (size zero) supermodels. There was no diversity in terms of body shape like there is today. My aspiration to look like them came at a price. I found myself caught in a cycle of restrictive eating, overeating, and years of yo-yo dieting that stretched from my teenage years into my late twenties.
Everything changed when I decided to abandon dieting and focus on balanced eating habits. By regularizing my meals, my preoccupation with food began to fade. I embraced wholesome, home-cooked meals and made exercise a regular part of my routine. This not only helped me lose weight and feel healthier but also transformed my relationship with food into a positive one.
This personal journey ignited my passion for health and nutrition, inspiring me to pursue it further through study and practice.
Qualification
Alongside working full-time, I studied a diploma in Nutrition at MAC Nutrition Uni (MNU). MNU is a UK evidence-based diploma course in Advanced Nutrition Science (government approved OFQUAL). MNU is studied globally in more than 80 countries and MNU nutritionists are renowned worldwide and highly sought after due to their wealth of knowledge in the health and fitness industry. I went on to gain a Practitioners Diploma in Menopause Wellness with Gateway Workshops and although I would not consider myself an expert in Menopause, I do have a wealth of knowledge and lived-in experience in this area.
